An inside look at the core features of ValYouRise — from organization management and RBAC to the interactive OKR board with progress tracking.
From Idea to Interactive OKR Board
After months of building, we are excited to share the first major milestone of ValYouRise: a fully functional OKR platform designed for teams that want transparency, alignment, and real ownership over their goals.
Here is what we have shipped so far — and why each piece matters.
Organizations and Workspaces
Every team operates differently, so ValYouRise starts with a flexible structure:
- Organizations group your company or department, with admin and member roles enforced server-side.
- Workspaces live inside organizations and represent a team, project, or OKR cycle.
- Privacy modes let workspace admins choose between full transparency (option_1) and need-to-know visibility (option_2), where non-admins only see objectives and their own key results.
This is not just UI chrome — RBAC is enforced at the API layer, so permissions cannot be bypassed by crafty URL changes.
The OKR Board
The centerpiece of ValYouRise is the interactive board view, built with @xyflow/react. It gives teams a visual canvas for their goal hierarchy:
- Objectives — the qualitative goals your team is pursuing.
- Key Results — measurable outcomes that prove an objective is on track.
- Actions — concrete tasks that drive key result progress.
Items are linked in a parent-child hierarchy, and progress rolls up automatically: action progress feeds into key results, which aggregate into objective-level progress.
Gantt View and Progress Tracking
Not everything fits on a board. The gantt view provides a timeline perspective for deadlines and dependencies, while progress indicators keep everyone informed about where things stand — without the overhead of status meetings.
Invitations and Collaboration
Teams grow. ValYouRise supports inviting members to organizations and workspaces with role-specific permissions. Accept or decline invitations from a centralized dashboard, and manage members without leaving the workspace.
What Comes Next
This release lays the foundation. In the coming weeks, we are adding AI-powered assistance, skill profiles, and reporting — all designed to help teams not just set goals, but achieve them.
